Lebanon today »for Presidents Aoun and Peace .. A call from Lebanese expatriates in France

The Lebanese expatriates belonging to the Change Lebanon Association in France made an appeal to the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun and the designated President Nawaf Salam, in which they demanded the translation of their promises to change into actions, starting with the path of forming the upcoming government, stressing the need to place the country’s interests over party and factional considerations, and reach the formation of a government It is able to save Lebanon and the Lebanese. They also stressed the importance of appointing ministers with courage, integrity and efficiency, whose only goal is to serve Lebanon and its people.

The call stated: Once he heard the first words delivered by the President of the Lebanese Republic as soon as he was elected, hope has become possible to emerge the emergence of a government in line with the desire of change that the people expressed in 2019. However, this hope can only be achieved through clear positioning: putting the interests of the country above Party and factional interests, and reach a government capable of saving Lebanon.

In their appeal, expatriates affirmed that the basic conditions for the government’s success in its tasks are simple: efficiency, courage, and integrity. They asked the government to implement the necessary reforms to rebuild the rule of law, to advance the financial situation, demarcate borders, impose security, and fight corruption, stressing that the change in governance has become a vital and urgent need, and that the pardon is not an option.

They also pointed out that the real challenge lies in translating the presidential discourse into practical acts, without returning to the old practices that harm the interests of the Lebanese. And they considered that geopolitical changes in the region and the world, especially in Lebanon, require Lebanese from various sects to find their salvation in the republic and the army only.

They added: The people’s confidence in state institutions, the judiciary, and banks must be acquired through real reforms and the rebuilding of these institutions. We, the Lebanese expatriates, demand that the new government bear strict and clear reforms, and that the current opportunity to fold the page of the past.

At the end of the appeal, the expatriates affirmed their willingness to provide everything in their power to help Lebanon recover, provided that Lebanon is fine, and that all Lebanese, at home and abroad, are fine.
