The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Al -Halabi, issued Memorandum No. 37/M/2025 related to the disruption of schools, high schools, official and private institutes and higher education institutions on the occasion of Mar Maroun’s Day and the memory of the martyrdom of President Rafik Hariri and his companions.

And it stated:

According to the provisions of Decree No. 8376 dated 9/10/2022 (government formation decree),

According to the provisions of Decree No. 2089, the date of 10/18/1971, especially the fourth subject of it (school definition),

According to the provisions of Decree No. 15215 dated 27/9/2005 and its amendments, which determines the holidays and official events,

According to the memorandum issued by the Prime Minister No. 2/2025 dated 02/03/2025 (the closure of public administrations, public institutions and municipalities on the occasion of Mar Maroun’s Day),

According to the memorandum issued by the Prime Minister No. 3/2025 dated 02/03/2025 (closing public administrations, public institutions, municipalities and public and private educational institutions on the occasion of the anniversary of the martyrdom of President Rafik Hariri and his companions),

High schools, basic education schools, kindergartens, institutes, official and private technical schools and higher education institutions are disrupted on Monday 10/02/2025 on the occasion of Mar Maroun’s Day and Friday, 02/14/2025 on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the martyrdom of President Rafik Hariri and his righteous companions.
