Arab newspapers reported that the German “Lufthansza” group, which includes “Lufthansa” companies, “Euro Winsi” and “Swiss Air”, will resume its flights to Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut as of March 30.

In this context, Maron Daher, a member of the Travel and Tourism offices Syndicate, stated that the return of Saudi Airlines to Lebanon, after it was stopped since the opening of the support front in southern Lebanon in October 2023, represents a very important step, indicating that Lebanon is awaiting the passion for the return of tourists Gulf.

Daher explained that there is a new generation of Gulf youth who are eager to visit Lebanon for the first time, based on the accounts of their parents about the splendor of Lebanon in the past. He also expressed his hope that European tourists will return, with future ambitions to attract American and Japanese tourists.

On the percentage of reservations for the Eid al -Fitr and summer season, Daher stressed that the reservations are active, noting that most of the flights to Lebanon began to witness an increasing demand. He also revealed the seizure of many Lebanese expatriates for their tickets after a long absence from the country exceeding five years, in addition to expatriate families who decided to return permanently and register their children in Lebanese schools.

Starting this week, French and Emirati flights will start to Beirut, which strengthens the tourist movement. According to Daher, Lebanon, thanks to its residents and its mandate, is capable of achieving tourism revenues of up to 11 billion dollars, as happened in 2010, which is one of the best tourist years in the history of Lebanon, with increasing indicators of optimism in the next season.
