Despite all that tells that the municipal and optional elections cannot happen on the time next May, and that there is a trend to postpone them until next September, it is clear that President Joseph Aoun’s position is different.

According to well -informed sources, President Aoun says in front of those who meet them that he is Egypt to hold the municipal elections on time and without any postponement, especially in light of the political movement taking place.

The sources believe that Aoun wants his arrival in Baabda a decisive path to the return of political and institutional life to normal in Lebanon and the end of the extension time.

On the other hand, a number of deputies promoted the possibility of postponing these elections, attributing the reason to the delay in forming the new government and tight time, and preferring to postpone them until after the parliamentary elections to provide large sums of money they will pay from their pockets to support the regulations near them, which in turn will return and support them in their parliamentary battles.

The source pointed out that the deputies prefer to postpone the municipal elections in order not to be involved in family problems in the towns and villages, which could affect their popularity and voices in a negative way.
