The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdullah Bou Habib, met his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel -Ati and his accompanying delegation, for a work lunch, and a presentation of the developments of the political and security situation in Lebanon and the region were presented.

Minister Abdel -Ati confirmed that his visit to Beirut comes to confirm Egypt’s full support for Lebanon after the election of the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and the assignment of President Nawaf Salam to form the new Lebanese government, and in light of the difficult conditions that Lebanon is currently witnessing.

He stressed “the importance of adhering to the arrangements for stopping hostilities between Lebanon and Israel, implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and the need for Israel to withdraw completely from Lebanese territory.”

Minister Abdel -Ati also indicated, “Egypt is keen to revitalize and enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.

For his part, Minister Bou Habib expressed to his Egyptian counterpart “Lebanon’s appreciation for Egypt’s supportive positions for it and the Lebanese people, and its permanent standing next to it in all the crises he is going through, the last of which is the Israeli war on it, and the position of Minister Abdel Ati during his recent visit to Brussels, where he demanded the European Union With the expansion of the European aid fan for Lebanon.

Minister Bou Habib also expressed “Lebanon’s thanks for the great humanitarian support that Egypt has provided to him in recent months.”
