Has the duo’s participation in the government been decided?

Political sources commented on the words of Representative Ali Hassan Khalil, who revealed that there was no agreement between the Shiite duo and any other party regarding the presidency of the government, in contrast to what was said during the past days in this regard, with talk that this agreement had been annulled.

The sources considered that this positive message launched by Khalil came at the inspiration of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to open a new page at the beginning of the era, and thus work to soften positions to move towards forming a new government with full specifications.

The sources explained that extensive communications took place at the level of President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Berri, to overcome all obstacles facing the future government, and thus move towards the active participation of the two in it, which has become a settled matter.

In practice, what Salam announced today, after his meeting with Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, was within this positive framework, and therefore matters are heading towards a solution with regard to the position of the duo, and it is possible that matters will move towards effective ministerial participation with everyone’s consent.

In addition, Berri said that the path regarding the formation of the new government is heading towards a solution, indicating that the Prime Minister-designate, Nawaf Salam, is cooperating, and he added: I did not enter into the portfolios and names with him, and the form of the government is his mission, and when he presents the names to us, we agree if the person is competent and we reject him if he is not. In an interview on Al-Jadeed channel, Berri stated that it was not previously accepted to isolate any component in Lebanon, and therefore the isolation of Hezbollah will not be accepted, and this matter is not accepted by anyone, and he added: As long as God is in heaven… Hezbollah is on earth.
