A meteorite penetrated the Earth… and a video recorded the moment it fell into a house!

When the couple, Phillidom and Kelly, were outside with their dogs, and when they returned home, they found a small mess and gray debris on the crosswalk. Returning to the surveillance cameras, they found that space had sent them a gift, and fortunately it was “safe” this time.

A camera in a house on Prince Edward Island, Canada, captured a video clip of a meteorite falling from the sky and hitting the sidewalk outside the front door of the house.

The couple collected some small fragments that survived complete disintegration by bouncing into the grass, and contacted experts to examine them.

Close examination revealed that the meteorite belongs to a class known as ordinary chondrites, which are meteorites consisting of non-metallic minerals that formed in the early solar system, and have remained relatively unchanged. They are not heated enough to melt, and they do not change due to the differentiation that the formed planets undergo, as they separate. Its minerals form layers.

“The amazing thing to me is that I had been standing there for a few minutes before that collision so it probably would have ripped me in half,” Viladom said.

Geologist Chris Hare from the University of Alberta, who studied the recovered fragments, confirmed that it may be the first time anyone has recorded the sound of a meteorite falling. (Sputnik)
