An invitation from the army to the media: not to circulate these names

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation announced, in a statement, that “some media outlets are circulating information and names of officers to assume command of the army,” succeeding President Joseph Aoun, who has served as army commander since 2017, prior to his election as President of the Lebanese Republic, on January 9. January 2, 2025.

The Lebanese Army Command called on “the relevant media outlets not to circulate these names or any other information related to the military institution and its officers, as this would lead to the spread of the names and pictures of the aforementioned officers on social media sites, and the accompanying comments about them.”
