Aoun discussed with the French ambassador Macron’s visit to Lebanon… and received a message from Putin

The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, discussed with the French Ambassador to Beirut, Hervé Margot, during his reception this afternoon at Baabda Palace, the arrangements related to the visit that French President Emmanuel Macron intends to make to Lebanon next Friday, and a number of topics of interest to the two countries.

During the meeting, Magro renewed his congratulations to President Aoun, noting that the French presidential visit confirms the depth of Lebanese-French relations and the interest shown by President Macron in the situation in Lebanon.

The discussion also touched on the situation in the south in light of the continuing Israeli attacks and the work of the Ceasefire Monitoring Committee.

President Aoun received the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov, who handed him a congratulatory message from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of his election, and discussed with him the general situation in the country, the recent political developments, and bilateral relations.

The Russian President’s message stated: I would like to stress that the Russian Federation is committed to continuing a consistent approach to supporting the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Lebanon, its internal stability and interfaith harmony. I look forward to seeing that your efforts in the position of Head of State will contribute to continuing to strengthen the traditionally friendly Russian-Lebanese relations, for the benefit of our two peoples and ensuring security and stability in the Middle East. I wish you success, good health and prosperity.

On the other hand, President Aoun continued to receive congratulations on his election from Arab leaders.

In this context, the President of the Republic received a congratulatory telegram from the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in which he said: I wish Your Excellency all the success and progress for the good, interest and stability of the brotherly country and directing all its energies and capabilities to advance it and achieve all the growth, progress and prosperity it seeks.

I take this opportunity to praise the historical and distinguished relations that unite the State of Kuwait with the sisterly Republic of Lebanon, and at the same time stress the constant and shared keenness to strengthen them to broader horizons in all fields for the good and common interest of the two countries, wishing the Lebanese Republic and its brotherly people further progress and development. May Your Excellency grant good health. And good health.
