After the Gaza settlement… will the region catch fire during the Trump era?

It seems clear from the leaks transmitted through the Israeli media and the leaders of the Hamas movement that a settlement in Gaza is within reach in light of major pressure exerted by the United States of America on Israel to end the war before the arrival of US President-elect Donald Trump to the White House, and this opens the door for The door opens to major questions about American policy and strategy in the region.

Perhaps everything that is rumored about the coming American era and the escalation that will accompany President Trump does not seem realistic, as Trump’s traditional policy towards the Middle East has become clear today and is based primarily on ending the battles in the region and moving towards comprehensive political stability to spare the United States of America from the processes of attrition that occurred in the past. .

Trump wants not to repeat the 2001 experience
And 2003, when Washington sank into the quagmire of the Middle East after thinking that it had triumphed and had complete control over it. This quagmire, which was immersed in problems that extended until 2006 in the Israeli war on Lebanon and then the Arab Spring, led to China jumping at this stage, which turned it into a major and dangerous competitor to America, and this is what Washington does not want at the current stage so that the matter does not turn against it. It becomes very difficult for him to return.

Therefore, what happened in Syria was not expected by the new American administration and did not fall within its basic calculations, as Washington seemed not to expect any scene from what happened in Syria, even though in appearance it was in its interest, as in practice it preferred to negotiate with the regime of the former president. Bashar al-Assad after being weakened before moving to a new regime that would delay stability. This is what America and Israel do not want in Syria, and what also applies to the region as a whole.

It is also clear that the new administration in Washington will come after putting an end to the battles and wars in Gaza and Lebanon, and this would freeze the Yemeni front and pave the way for American-Iranian negotiations whose threads have begun to unfold in some diplomatic corridors, which means that every bet is on that period. Trump will be a firebrand in the Middle East. This is a misplaced bet and will not actually be in the interest of any party.
