Macron in Beirut on Friday and Guterres on Saturday
The Emirati embassy in Beirut will open its doors soon.
French President Macron congratulated Salam on his appointment to form the government, wishing him “all success in forming a government that serves all the Lebanese.”
The White House said that President Aoun is capable of managing a new chapter in Lebanon, and considered that Lebanon faces a great opportunity to begin a new chapter that does not depend on terrorism, and that Lebanon is facing a turning point, and could be on the cusp of an internal political consensus, if the current opportunity is exploited.
The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, during his tour of the officials, considered that with the completion of the elements of the state, Lebanon will be prepared to eliminate many of the problems, noting that “we are all hopeful of President Aoun’s era.” Aboul Gheit began his meetings from the Government Palace, visited Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and then President Aoun in the evening.
Al-Diyar wrote: Saudi Ambassador Walid Bukhari confirmed to his visitors that his country had never interfered with the representatives to influence the choice of the new prime minister, but he stressed that what matters to the Kingdom is not the name of the president, but rather the form and composition of the government and then its ministerial statement, and it prefers it to be a government of technocrats. On this basis, Lebanon will be dealt with and the relationship with it will be reformulated?!
Adwan: The government will consist of technicians and technocrats, and we will participate in it
