Building the Syrian state takes precedence over personal rights
Ahmed Al-Sharaa said, in an interview reported by media outlets and social media pages: “The mentality of revenge does not build the state. Tolerance must prevail in order to build the state. There should be no tolerance for those who committed crimes and massacres against the Syrian people.”
He added: “To those demanding personal rights, we tell them that construction is more important than personal rights.”
He continued: “We want to build state institutions that achieve a good level of justice among people and prevent the recurrence of what happened in the future.”
On the other hand, the leader of the new administration in Syria indicated that “it is not possible to build a state with factions. There are institutions, a state, a presidency, a parliament, and an executive government.”
Al-Sharaa also stated: “The Syrian passport will have great weight in years to come.” (Sky News)
