After the first election session…this is what happened between the army commander and the duo
Al-Jadeed TV reported, today, Thursday, that MPs Ali Hassan Khalil and Mohamed Raad are holding a meeting with the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, to discuss the presidential file.
This meeting came after the first electoral session held by the House of Representatives, today, Thursday, which did not result in Aoun becoming president after he received 71 votes while he was supposed to receive 86.

Therefore, electing the president in the second round requires 65 votes, noting that in the first round, the candidate needs 86 votes out of 128 representatives.
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri adjourned the first session, which ended at approximately 12:15 p.m. after it began at 11 p.m.
During it, the army commander received 71 votes, while the number of white ballots was 37. As for the canceled ballots, the number was 18, while two ballots were cast for Shibli Mallat.
