What did Trump say about Russia?
US President-elect Donald Trump expressed, on Tuesday, his sympathy and understanding for Russia’s position of rejecting Ukraine’s joining NATO.
Speaking during a press conference at his resort in Florida, Trump expressed his regret that he would not meet Russian President Vladimir Putin before his inauguration.
Trump held President Joe Biden responsible for changing the American position on Ukraine’s accession to NATO.
“A big part of the problem is that Russia, for many years and long before Putin, said NATO could not get involved in Ukraine,” Trump said. “It has become etched in stone.”
