Regarding the American veto… Mikati’s media office denies this news
Issued by the media office of Prime Minister Najib Mikati:
MTV reported in its evening bulletin that American envoy Amos Hockstein said during his meeting with Prime Minister Mikati that the United States of America has a veto over two names: Suleiman Franjieh and George Khoury.
What was reported is not true at all, because the meeting with Hochstein dealt exclusively with the situation in the south and the tasks of the committee charged with monitoring the ceasefire. It required clarification.
