The first death due to bird flu in America

Health authorities in the US state of Louisiana announced on Monday the first human death due to bird flu, noting that it was an elderly patient who was suffering from other diseases.

Health authorities indicated that the patient, who was over 65 years old, was hospitalized due to respiratory problems, and was the first case of severe human infection with the H5N1 virus in the United States.
