Yassin launched from the West Bekaa a campaign to distribute aid to those affected by the war


The Minister of Environment and Coordinator of the Government Emergency Committee, Dr. Nasser Yassin, launched a campaign to distribute aid to families that were affected during the recent aggression on the areas of the Western Bekaa, considering that this campaign is continuing with the aim of strengthening the steadfastness of our people in their homes and villages. The aid round included food rations provided by the Qatari Red Crescent and food rations. Personal hygiene provided by the Red Cross.

Yassin confirmed that, according to the latest census, there are more than one hundred thousand families affected during the recent Israeli aggression, and we are working to provide aid continuously so that the campaign reaches all needy families in all villages, and we are also working to survey the damage in all affected areas in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works to begin restoring Ages.

Minister Yassin’s speech came within the framework of implementing the plan to respond to the humanitarian needs of those affected by the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which targets the areas affected by the aggression. Yassin toured a number of affected towns in the Western Bekaa and held a meeting with the mayors in the Sohmor municipality building.

During the meeting, Yassin explained the action plan of the government and its president for reconstruction and the stages included in the plan, from relief, surveying damages, and removing rubble, all the way to the reconstruction stage, hoping that the wheel of reconstruction will begin with a President of the Republic soon and a new government will keep pace with the reconstruction stage. Yassin thanked the State of Qatar, the Lebanese Red Cross and the Qatar Red Crescent for their efforts and partnership in relief and support, noting the efforts of all supporting bodies, organizations and associations.

Yassin also addressed environmental issues related to the municipalities of the region, especially around the Litani Stream, revealing a very advanced and modern environmental project to address the waste crisis in the Western Bekaa and Rashaya.

Jihad Yassin had talked about the problems of municipalities, the damage caused by the Israeli aggression on the region, and the work mechanisms that would begin reconstruction after surveying the severe damage, especially in the town of Sohmor. Then there were interventions by Nesbin, Daher, Tasaad and Karim, who stressed the need to give the devastated areas care, attention and diligent follow-up to address the damage and begin the reconstruction phase, in addition to addressing the environmental problems left by the devastating war and the issue of pollution and returning to work to address the Litani pollution, appreciating the efforts of Minister Yassin and the supporting bodies.

The mayor of Sohmor stressed the importance of the cooperation taking place to limit the repercussions of the crisis and its negative repercussions on the reality of the people, thanking Minister Yassin, the Lebanese Red Cross, the Qatari Red Crescent, and the support bodies for their efforts and standing by the affected families.
