The newspaper quoted three sources, which it did not name but described as familiar with the party’s internal affairs, that Trudeau’s announcement could come as early as Monday.

The newspaper also suggested, according to its sources, that the announcement would be made before a conference of the National Liberal Party, and stated that if the resignation occurred, it was not clear whether Trudeau would continue in his position temporarily until the Liberal Party was able to choose a new leadership.
