Syrians sneak across the border daily…and this is what they do in Akkar
A number of Akkar residents complained about an environmental massacre taking place on the southern side of the Great River, specifically in the Ghar Horsh, or the so-called Black Horsh.
It was learned that a group of Syrians infiltrate daily from the Syrian side across the border, crossing the Great River towards the Black Forest in Mangiz, and deliberately cutting down hundreds of trees, shooting anyone who tries to approach them, and transporting the result to Syrian territory, specifically to the town of Uzair, according to what was reported. The people of the area confirm.
It is noteworthy that the Black Forest is classified as an Important Plant Area, and is located within a landmark listed on the preliminary list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
