We hope for a sovereign and stable Syria
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot expressed from Damascus his hope that Syria would be “sovereign, stable and calm,” during his first visit to the country.
“Less than a month ago, new hope emerged thanks to the mobilization of Syrian women and men,” Barrow said from the French embassy in Damascus.
He continued: “There is hope for a sovereign, stable and calm Syria. It is a real hope, but it is fragile.”
It is noteworthy that, at the beginning of his visit to Damascus, Barrow met with the Greek Orthodox Patriarch John X Yazigi.
