Israel rejected the decisions of the International Court of Justice issued on Friday, ordering it to stop its attack on Rafah and allow aid to enter the stricken Gaza Strip..

A statement from the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel said, “The accusations made by South Africa against Israel in court of genocide are false, shameful and disgusting.”

The statement added that Israel is in “a just defensive war in order to destroy Hamas and release our kidnappers,” as the statement put it, after the movement’s attack on it last October 7.

He also stressed that “Israel has not and will not undertake military activity in the Rafah area that creates living conditions that could lead to the killing of Palestinian civilians, in whole or in part.”

He continued: “Israel will continue to make efforts that will allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and work, in accordance with the law, to reduce the damage to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, as much as possible.”
