A cooperation agreement between Our Lady of Help University Hospital and Baskinta Center
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Our Lady of Help University Hospital – Jbeil, Father Wissam Al-Khoury, and the President of the Saint Sassine Monastery in Baskinta, Sister Claire Al-Khoury Hanna, signed a cooperation agreement between the hospital and the Baskinta Primary Health Care Center, which is based in the monastery, under the auspices of the President of the Norge Society, Dr. Fouad Abu Nader, who signed Also on the agreement in his capacity as a supporter of the project.
The agreement stipulates that Our Lady of Help University Hospital will take over the management and operation of the center with the aim of managing and developing its work, leading to transforming it into a one-day day hospital (hospital de jour) in order to provide health services accessible to all, prevention, treatment, first aid, and care for the people of the region, which includes about five people in its vicinity. Thirty thousand people are in dire need of primary health care through an advanced medical institution.
It comes in accordance with the principles of the Lebanese Maronite Monastic Order, its mission and its history of standing by the people of society in all circumstances.
The meeting was attended by the General Director of the hospital, Elias Abu Fadel, the Medical Director, Dr. Ziad Al-Khoury, Dr. Julian Lahoud, Counselor Jinan Doumit Nader, the former President of Saint Sassine Monastery, Sister Therese Habib, and from the Norge Association, the General Coordinator Tania Al-Helou, the Health Care Program Coordinator, Dr. Naji Hajjar, and the Director Financial and administrative Kamal Korban.
The success of this project lies in solidarity with the aim of stabilizing people in their villages, treating cases that require primary care, and reducing the cost of medical care, with the hope that it will become a model in other regions.
