Trump wrote on his social platform: “If China does not retract tomorrow, from the 34% of the long -term abuse, the United States will impose additional customs duties by 50% on China starting from April 9,” Trump wrote on his social platform.

He stressed that if the Chinese authorities do not meet this condition, “negotiations with China will be canceled at their request to meet with us,” adding, “As for the negotiations with other countries that requested a meeting, they will be held immediately.”

On April 2, the President of the United States signed a decree to impose “mutual” customs duties on imports from other countries, describing this measure as “economic liberation”. The main percentage of the minimum reached 10%, while it reached the commodities coming from the European Union 20%. The US President also promised revenue from customs duties ranging from 6 and 7 trillion dollars in favor of the state budget.
