The White House cancels the press conference between Trump and Netanyahu

The media reported, on Monday evening, that the White House announced the cancellation of a press conference that was scheduled between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The US President will meet the Israeli Prime Minister, and the file of the customs duties imposed by Washington on Israel will dominate the talks, along with the war on the Gaza Strip and the Iranian issue.

Prior to the meeting in Trump, Netanyahu met US Trade Secretary Howard Lootnick and Trade Commissioner Jimson Jarir, according to the Prime Minister’s office.

The main goal of Netanyahu, which arrives from Washington from Hungary, is to persuade the American president to retract the decision or at least reduce customs duties of 17 percent, before it enters into force on Israel.

Before leaving Budapest, Netanyahu said that he aims to discuss “the issue of hostages and victory in Gaza, and of course the customs duties imposed on Israel.”

“I am the first international official, the first foreign leader to meet President Trump to discuss a decisive issue of Israel’s economy,” he added in a statement.
