Al -Qusaifi offered with the Temple of the Army’s missions in implementing the ceasefire decision


The head of the Lebanese press, Joseph Al -Qusaifi, commander of the army, General Rudolph Haykal, visited his office in Yarzeh.

Al -Qusaifi said in a statement that “the meeting was an occasion to present the situation in the country and the tasks carried out by the Lebanese army in terms of implementing the decision to cease the ceasefire issued by the United Nations, as well as consolidating and strengthening security and stability throughout Lebanon.”

Al -Qusaifi quoted General Heikal as saying: “The Lebanese army is committed to implementing the UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and the decision to stop the fire issued by this council, and it is widespread in the southern Litani region and does its tasks without slowing down or obstacles, in full cooperation with the southern society in that region.”
Heikal pointed out that “the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy must take place today before tomorrow from the areas it occupies, because this withdrawal leads to stability and weigh the active state presence in all Lebanese regions.”

On the security at home, he said: “Security at home is under control, in coordination with the rest of the Lebanese security services.”

On volunteering in the army, Heikal pointed out that “these operations are continuing, in implementation of the cabinet decisions in order to settle on six thousand volunteers.”

As for the aid to the Lebanese army, he said: “The friendly countries that provide support for the army are still committing to them, and we hope that this support will expand and strengthen in the future.” (National Agency)
