Washington provides its conditions for lifting the sanctions on Syria … and an exciting Russian exclusion

Two weeks after circulating information about American conditions to lift sanctions on Syria, new details revealed.

A US report reported today, Monday, that the Trump administration is facing a state of division on how to respond to the Russian military presence in Syria and whether it should ask the new transitional government to remove Russian forces from a naval and air base in the country.

It also turned out that Trump’s officials were submitted last month, for Sharia representatives, a list of conditions to eventually lift the sanctions. However, the abolition of the Russian military presence in the country was not among them, according to the newspaper “The Hill”.

A source familiar with the matter revealed that there is a widespread internal controversy within the administration about the position that must be taken towards the Russian base. This was discussed inside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the White House, where there was pressure from some members of the administration to remove it.

He added that the removal of Russian forces is not currently required by the Syrians in exchange for lifting the sanctions.

He also explained that Russia’s defenders in Congress believe that the removal of Russian military assets in Syria is an easy demand from Sharia, and it would achieve great geopolitical victories for the United States in the region.

Representative Joe Wilson told the newspaper: “I hope that every effort is made to remove the Russian naval base in Tartous, and likewise remove the air base that Russia has in Syria,” Representative Joe Wilson told the newspaper.

While Senator Jim Rish (Republican from Idaho), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has taken a more cautious position, saying that Damascus’s departure from Russia and its partners – China, Iran and North Korea – would benefit the United States.

“If we want it and want it, we must try to achieve this,” he said.

He also explained that the reports indicate that Putin is communicating with Sharia and offered it “practical cooperation” at a time when the government faces an overwhelming economic crisis, and the ongoing international sanctions imposed on Assad. (Arabic)
