Chinese maneuvers increase tensions across the Taiwan Strait

The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven – Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States – were condemned in addition to the European Union “provocative works” by Beijing.

They said in a joint statement: “These increasingly frequent and destabilizing activities increase tensions through the Taiwan Strait and endanger global security and prosperity,” according to the agency “DBA”.

The statement added that the members of the Group of Seven and the international community have an interest in preserving peace and stability through the Taiwan Strait.

He continued, “We oppose any unilateral actions that threaten this peace and stability, including force or coercion.”
