Hezbollah’s disarmament is a necessity to achieve stability in Lebanon


The Middle East envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortigos, confirmed that she had not received a rejection from the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun regarding the establishment of three diplomatic committees to discuss sensitive files, such as detainees, border demarcation, and the withdrawal of the Israeli army. She explained that her current focus is on the implementation of the endowment of hostilities and the disarmament of Hezbollah, in addition to supporting economic reforms in Lebanon.

She indicated in a special statement to LBCI, that the choice in front of power and the people in Lebanon is to cooperate in these areas, including the disarmament of Hezbollah and the end of corruption, so that relations are partnership and friendship, or slowing down in procedures, which may lead to lack of partnership with the international community.

Ortagus also confirmed the continued support of the army through training, financing and equipment, noting that the army, led by President Aoun, was able to impose more power. She added that whenever the army can disarm, the Lebanese people will liberate faster than foreign influence and terrorism.

Regarding the timing, the American pollution stressed the need to disarm as soon as possible, expressing its optimism in the new government and its continued pressure to implement the endowment of hostilities completely.
