A general strike in Sidon and a march of anger in solidarity with Gaza


In a solidarity move with the people of Gaza, who suffer from the Israeli siege and aggression, he announced in the city of Sidon a general strike in response to the global strike condemning the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza, which some described as “the Day of Resurrection” because of its ugliness. This comes at a time when the city is witnessing wide popular moves, as all activities and activists were called to participate in the “march of anger” that will start tomorrow at five in the afternoon of Elijah Square to Al -Najma Square.

The march that includes scientific bodies, scouting movements, mosque committees, medical bodies, student ties, and school gatherings, in addition to civil activists, aimed at moving the global silence about what is going on in Gaza, demanding the condemnation of the Israeli occupation for its massacres, and rejecting displacement and normalization projects.

Most of the city’s schools, companies and commercial establishments also announced the closure of their doors in solidarity with the people of Gaza, in an expressive step on rejecting aggression and denouncing global silence. In the Palestinian camps in Sidon, including the Ain al -Hilweh, Al -Miyah and Miyah camps, the Palestine Liberation Organization factions called for a “comprehensive national and societal strike” tomorrow, confirming its position in support of the Palestinian cause and a rejection of the continuous Israeli aggression.

Sidon, like other Lebanese regions, is witnessing a wide interaction with popular moves, as all civil society groups participate in the action scheduled tomorrow, in denunciation of the genocide and war crimes that the Palestinian people suffer from.
