The Turkish opposition is calling for early presidential elections

Today, Sunday, the leader of the main opposition party in Türkiye called for early elections no longer next November, after 10 days of protests against the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul.

“Within a later not exceeding November, you will face our candidate. We invite you to contact the people’s will again. We challenge you. We want our candidate alongside our side and the polls in front of us,” said Ozgor Ozil, leader of the People’s Party, heading to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during an exceptional conference of his opposition party in Ankara.

“If you have courage, you will come. If you want, in the first week of next June, the shortest possible schedule. If you say: No, it is very narrow, be in the middle of your state, next November.”
