The Committee of Contracting Professors at the Lebanese University announced the warning strike for a week starting from tomorrow, Monday, April 7 to Monday morning, April 14, 2025.
In a statement, the committee said: “From 2019 until today, the contracting professors at the Lebanese University live the most heinous types of marginalization and neglect, they have been deprived of distance education allowances, and from most social assistance, and from the productivity suits, some of which were paid after a long suffering and irregularly. The university did not respect the contracts that it signed with them, neither in terms of regular payment, nor in terms of adherence to the transfer ceremonies, whether in terms of value Or the appointments. Knowing that they are a pillar of the university’s renaissance, and that their sacrifices and their commitment were a basic element in the university of the university.
And she continued: “The contractors have patience for five years for this suffering, and they bear this year delaying the payment of their dues for more than five months. But patience has reached its limit, and it is no longer acceptable that the contractors will be denied their right to the minimum justice, in light of a chronic ignorance of the file of devotion and depriving them of this right for more than ten years, and today they are forbidden even from the most basic human rights. The contracting professors demand the following:
1- Expediting the procedures leading to the approval of the full-time, which remains the basic requirement to ensure the stability of the university and fairness of the contractors.
2- Improving the wage of the watch at least 70% of its value before the crisis, similar to improving the salaries of those who balance them in specialization and duties.
3- Pay the transportation allowances for all days of the actual attendance, the full commitment to the texts of the relevant decrees, and refuse any contradiction under any pretext.
4- Paying all the immediately late dues, without excuses related to the deficiency of employees or strikes, which are arguments that no longer convince anyone after years of indifference and delay.
The committee stated that its strike will be subject to extension in the event that the demands did not receive the urgent response, and she concluded: “We confirm that the speed of the administration and officials’ response to our demands will be met positively, in the interest of us on the university, its students and their future. ”
