The Israeli withdrawal is not negotiable

The Ortigos met yesterday, the presidents, Joseph Aoun, Nabih Berri, and Nawaf Salam, and the visit included the commander of the army, General Rudolph Haykal.

Al -Diyar wrote: The official information and the atmosphere that was nominated about these talks, confirmed that Ortigos’s meetings in Baabda, Ain Al -Tina and Al -Sarayi government were “good, constructive and positive.” The Presidency statement described the meeting between President Joseph Aoun and the American delegate and the accompanying delegation, which lasted an hour and one -third of the hour and was interspersed with a retreat, “was constructive”, while President Nabih Berri described the meeting with her as “good and constructive”, and the Prime Minister’s statement spoke about a positive atmosphere and the praise of Ortigos with the authority’s reformist plan.

A prominent source said that the atmosphere of the talks with the American delegate “is good and built on it in the next stage,” noting that the research focuses on implementing the ceasefire agreement and decision 1701 in its fee, and that it heard a unified position on the three presidents to confirm Lebanon’s commitment to the agreement and the aforementioned decision, while stressing the completion of the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese lands and stopping the enemy’s violations and attacks.

Regarding the hadith that preceded the visit on threats, intimidation, defining time, normalization, etc., the source suffices, “What was said, published, or swarm did not coincide with what happened during the American delegate meetings with Lebanese officials, and therefore it is merely speculation and prior jurisprudence.”

Outside the framework of official information, informed sources indicate that the American delegate did not use direct threat phrases, and that it listened to the explanations of the three presidents with interest on all the issues and points raised, including the fate of Hezbollah’s weapon and the mechanism of border stabilization negotiations.

The information added, according to the sources, that the Lebanese officials stressed the priority of completing the Israeli withdrawal, stopping the Israeli violations and attacks, and release the prisoners.

Regarding the American offering to form 3 diplomatic committees to negotiate the borders, Lebanese officials were inspired by the experience of the Technical Committee that drew the maritime and diplomatic boundaries that were adopted by the former American delegate Ameos Hakstein.

At the lengthy meeting, Ortigos heard from President Aoun a Lebanese confirmation to implement what was stated in the department’s speech regarding the exclusive weapon in the hands of the state, and that he presented a clear perception in accordance with the priorities related to the ceasefire agreement, starting with the completion of the Israeli withdrawal and the cessation of Israeli violations and attacks, to establishing the borders and implementing the agreement and decision 1701 and the issue of exclusive weapons in the hands of the state.

President Aoun explained to the American delegate the achievements and the important steps made by the Lebanese army in the context of implementing the ceasefire agreement and its spread south of the Litani, pointing out that the continuation of the occupation of some Israeli points and violations hinders the strengthening of the measures and spread of the army, which has demonstrated its willingness and its premature to carry out its responsibilities.

The information also said, the American delegate did not talk about a specific time limit for the disarmament of Hezbollah and did not address the issue of normalization, but it stressed the completion of Lebanon to do what it is towards the implementation of the ceasefire and resolution 1701, and was keen in another field that Lebanon made the required reforms on the financial, economic and administrative levels.

The information added that the Lebanese official position is clear regarding the refusal to go to normalization, and that the American envoy is in advance the circumstances related to this matter. Lebanon also supports, according to the atmosphere available, commitment to the armistice agreement in 1949.

According to the information, too, the Lebanese officials confirmed that the Israeli withdrawal is not subject to negotiation, and that the ceasefire agreement is clear and stipulated without any clothing.

A prominent political source told “Kuwaiti News”: “The most important thing in this visit, the adoption of Ortagus” New Locke “was a different politician from her previous visit, when she visited the Baabda Palace and launched sharp positions in which she fully adopted the Israeli view, which then sparked widespread resentment. Today, fiery statements were absent, and the quiet diplomacy attended, reflecting a clear understanding of the Lebanese position, Especially with regard to the implementation of the items of the international obligations paper in the south of the Litani.

The source pointed out that “it is also noticeable that Ortigos is preparing to intensify its activity between Beirut and Tel Aviv, whenever the need arises to resolve the outstanding points, which puts it in the actual mediator site in the most sensitive files, especially those related to southern Lebanon, border demarcation and implementing international decisions.”
