We work to protect forest wealth


The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Nizar Hani, accompanied by the Ministry’s General Manager, Louis Lahoud, head of the Akkar Agricultural Authority Taha Mustafa and a number of senior employees of the ministry, started his tour in Akkar Ziyaza, the Mufti of Akkar Sheikh Zaid Bakkar Zakaria in the Dar Al Ifta in Halaba, in the presence of the head of the Endowment Department in Akkar Sheikh Malik, and the head of the Zakat Fund Osama Al -Zoubi. Zakaria and Omar Saeed Al -Hayek, Head of the Department of Akkar Governorate, Luqman Al -Kurdi, Sheikhs, members of the Endowment Council and heads of embarrassment centers.

Hani stressed, “The Ministry’s interest in Akkar’s agricultural conditions in general and the most important needs required to protect local production and existing seasons,” due to “Akkar’s richness in agricultural wealth, forests and diversity.”

He pointed to “the importance of the crops that the Islamic endowments are interested in in Akkar by cultivating their lands in Avoca,” stressing “work on the need to protect the forest wealth that is exposed to attacks.”

The Mufti Zakaria welcomed Minister Hani, the Director General and the accompanying delegation, noting his quick initiative to visit Akkar to closely see her agricultural problems, noting that “the needs of farmers are many and they constitute a large sherbh from the Akkari society”, calling for “their fairness, protection of their production and support with all capabilities and securing local and external markets for their seasons.”

He pointed out that “the operation of President René Moawad airport in Qulayat is a spark of hope for farmers.”

Noting that Hani will soon inspect the potato season in the Akkar plain, and he will meet with agricultural activities and bodies and deputies of Akkar in the Agriculture Authority in Abda.
