What is Nawaf Salam from the American delegate? Sources reveal

Al -Hadath channel quoted government sources as saying that the American delegate to Lebanon Morgan Ortigos assured Prime Minister Nawaf Salam during its meeting with him today, Saturday, the importance of implementing the government’s reformist plan, noting that “Ortigos praised the reform steps that the Lebanese government began implementing.”

She continued: “Ortigos stopped in front of Salam on the importance of raising banking secrecy and restructuring banks, and has assured the Prime Minister the importance of the measures taken at Beirut Airport.”

The American delegate also stressed, according to Al -Hadath, the need to complete the deployment of the army in southern Lebanon, stressing the need for the army to work to extend the state’s authority over all Lebanese territory.

In turn, Salam stressed to Ortigos that “the army will continue its work to restrict arms in the hands of the state,” while the American delegate informed the importance of Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon and stopping its violations.

The sources also said that “Salam put forward the establishment of a military technical committee, such as those that negotiated the demarcation of the maritime borders,” noting that “Ortigos expressed its admiration for a peace proposal on the shuttle diplomacy between Lebanon and Israel.”
