After the rumors of their divorce … surprising confessions by Barack Obama regarding his relationship with his wife, Michel

For the first time, former US President Barack Obama admitted the difficulties he had in his relationship with his wife, Michelle Obama.

During a dialogue with Stephen Tiber, the head of Hamilton College, Obama said: “I was suffering from a great deficiency in my relationship with my wife, so I am now trying to compensate for this by doing some enjoyable things from time to time.”

He explained that his successive presidential term from 2009 to 2017 has negatively affected his relationship with his wife.

In a previous interview in May 2023, Obama indicated that leaving the White House helped him improve things, saying: “Let me say that leaving the White House and getting more time with her helped a lot,” expressing his gratitude to his wife because she “forgives him for his shortcomings.”

For her part, Michel 2022 revealed another aspect of the challenges they faced, as she admitted that she did not “endure her husband” for a “full 10 years” when their two daughters (26 years) and Sasha (23 years) were young.

She emphasized that she was not seeking to ridicule this, but rather she was telling a reality she lived.

Michelle presented her own philosophy about marriage by saying: “Marriage is not a fair division of 50/50,” explaining: “There are times that I am 70 percent, which is 30 percent, and other times is 60 percent and I am 40 percent. But after 30 years of marriage, the best 10 years is difficult for 30 years. It is all about how you look at things.”

In April 2023, Michel spoke frankly about the importance of patience in marriage, saying: “I am talking frankly about our marital partnership because marriage is difficult, and many young people abandon marriage for reasons that are in fact part of the basic commitment.”

She also admitted that the required concessions in married life “are not always enjoyable.”

The couple, who married in October 1992, was subjected to a wave of rumors of divorce last January after Barak appeared alone in several important political events, including the funeral of President Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

However, sources close to the family denied these rumors, stressing that Michel simply “moved away from political life in Washington.”

One of the former workers also quoted the family as saying: “They do not pretend that they have an ideal relationship, and they do not try to show that they are a magic duo.” (Sky News)
