The Israeli army will destroy all the tunnels in the Philadelphia axis

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported, quoting a high -level security source, that the Israeli army will destroy all the tunnels in the Philadelphia axis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The security source said: “The work hypotheses since November 7 state that we do not know everything, and for this it is possible and with the suspension of humanitarian aid to the sector, smuggling operations of different types such as marches, boats and others.”

The source confirmed the presence of tunnels that pass the borders closed in terms of engineering and located under the control of the Israeli army. Most of the tunnels were closed with a special component, and some were destroyed by explosives, and some remained under the control of the army to conduct intelligence and engineering research.

The security source expressed his belief that if the army had not been in the Philadelphia region, the Palestinians would have used the existing smuggling tunnels or set new tunnels.

He added: “The security commission has reached information and offered to the Minister of Defense, Yisrael Katz, that Hamas is working in several axes to receive Iranian aid with the aim of working again against Israel, and for this reason the smuggling axes from Africa and intends to rebuild forces in the Gaza Strip in order to carry out operations.”

Under this pretext, Katz insists not to withdraw from the Philadelphia axis to prevent Hamas from rebuilding its forces, according to the security source.

In the middle of last March, the Israeli website “Walla” stated that the army engineering forces managed to unveil about 90 tunnels of different lengths along the axis from the closed Rafah crossing to the sea coast. (Sky News)
