The decisions of the government session today .. This is what the ministers agreed


The Council of Ministers held today, Friday, a regular session in the government companies, which discussed a series of topics and files, including the draft law on the banking sector reform.

After the session, the Minister of Information read its decisions, and announced that the government’s approval of a draft decree aimed at amending the customs duties tariff according to the system established in terms of creating local sub -items for alcoholic beverages, which leads to reducing the fees.

Also, Morcos said that the government agreed to a draft decree aimed at identifying the details of the establishment of the volunteer military housing agency, and that a project aimed to determine the assets of preparing and publishing the annual reports of public investment institutions for water.

Morcos stated that the Council of Ministers agreed to define the cracked and unimportant buildings in Tripoli and secure alternative places and necessary credits for that, provided that it works on surveys in other regions successively.

Also, Morcos explained that the Council of Ministers has focused on studying the draft law on reforming the banking situation in Lebanon and reorganizing the status of banks.

He continued: “Economic growth and financial regularity require a recovered banking system and the approval of the bank reform law in the House of Representatives will be an introduction to approve a reform plan that protects the rights of depositors.”

Marcus stressed that “the cabinet will complete the debate with the law of restructuring banks last Tuesday.”

Also, Morcos stated that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam briefed the ministers on his recent talks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
