“Leibon Deepite” learned that the Financial Attorney General Judge Ali Ibrahim, and seven days before his retirement on the tenth of this month, was arrested yesterday, Thursday, Karim Salam, the brother of the former Minister of Economy, Amin Salam, after he was interrogated in cases related to the extraction of insurance companies.

Informed sources said that this file was referred months ago, specifically in the month of July, to the Financial Public Prosecution by the Criminal Court in Beirut after it became clear to the court that there are suspicions about the minister’s brother with bribes in exchange for settling the conditions of one of the insurance companies. At that time, the court sentenced the former minister’s advisor, Fadi Tamim, to a year’s imprisonment.

It is noteworthy that the Chairman of the Parliamentary Economy Committee, MP Farid Al -Bustani, had been reported against Minister Salam and his brother and accounting expert Eli Abboud and against Tamim for the crimes of embezzlement and extortion. In light of this news, the discriminatory public prosecutor, Judge Jamal Al -Hajjar, issued a decision to prevent the four mentioned traveling, referring to the information division in the Internal Security Forces to investigate it.
