A source familiar with the airport stated that “more than 30 workers at the airport were informed in succession of the expiration of the licenses given to them, and the inability to renew them.”
The source confirmed to Asharq Al -Awsat that this decision “did not include workers in the service of carrying bags of travelers from abroad to the interior and vice versa, but also included the bags of bags to the planes and unloading them, in addition to a number of employees in the department of inspection of bags and the seizure of the missing,” noting that the decision “was a shock for those who included the separation, especially since they spent many years at work at the airport, and they enjoyed the movement of stirring Without accountability or sergeant.
These measures come in the context of strengthening the security of the airport and travelers through it, and weakening the influence of Hezbollah in it to the extreme, in the expression of the source, who indicated that “those who were separated are the eyes and ears of the party inside the airport, and a basic source of the information he was drawing on the movement of passengers from the airport or expatriates, and around the clock.”
The source did not hide that “granting them work licenses and entering the airport campus was taking place and pressure from the party so that no person who is not loyal to him or who is satisfied with him is allowed to obtain such a license, and this expanded his influence inside the airport for a long time.”

Establishing the influence of Hezbollah at the airport is not limited to civilians working in it, but rather exceeds it to other areas; A security source revealed to Asharq Al -Awsat that the matter “will withdraw on elements and officers in security units operating from the airport security apparatus, especially customs, internal security forces and public security,” explaining that “there are many people around whom suspicions of dealing with the party and facilitating its transactions in the previous period, even if they are not political loyal to it, but they benefit financially.”
