Science is the most important weapon in facing challenges


The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, stressed the importance of science as a basic tool to face challenges in Lebanon. This came during his reception of the delegation of the Teachers Syndicate headed by Captain Naama Mahfoud, where the meeting dealt with ways to support education in Lebanon and develop educational curricula. Aoun explained that science is the most important weapon that enables to confront difficulties and should be the focus of the state’s interest.

On the other hand, Captain Mahfoud reviewed with President Aoun the difficult living conditions faced by teachers in Lebanon as a result of economic crises, calling for improving salaries and calculating compensation affected by the financial crisis. He also stressed the need to improve educational curricula and develop average and secondary certificate to keep pace with the age of technology.

President Aoun expressed his understanding of the demands of the teachers and stressed that the state is working to restore the rights of all, noting the need to enhance support for the educational sector and the importance of cooperation between all parties to overcome the current crises. He added that investing in science and education is an investment in the future of Lebanon, stressing the need to support and protect teachers to achieve educational goals in the country.

President Aoun, Minister of Energy and Water, also received Mr. Joe Al -Sadi, who briefed him on the steps taken to improve the electrical reality in Lebanon, in addition to the latest developments in the file of gas and oil exploration with the company “Total”.
