The US Senate thwarts an attempt to ban weapons sales to Israel

On Thursday, the US Senate rejected an overwhelming majority of an endeavor to prevent the sale of 8.8 billion dollars in Israel in an attempt to rely on the human rights crisis faced by the Palestinians in Gaza after the Israeli bombing of the Strip and prevent the delivery of humanitarian aid.

The Senate voted with a majority of 82 votes compared to 15 votes and 83 votes, compared to 15 votes to reject two proposed resolutions on huge bombs and other offensive military hardware. Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, an independent member of the Democratic Party.

It is not likely to pass bills for arms sales of arms sales to Israel in light of the firm support for decades from the Republican and Democratic parties in Congress, but supporters of such projects hope that the issue of this issue will encourage the Israeli government and US administrations to make more efforts to protect civilians.

In a speech, in which Sanders urged support for the two draft resolutions, Sanders described the losses caused by civilians and the thousands offered by children, especially due to the prevention of the arrival of humanitarian aid recently.
