The Minister of Social Affairs, Hanin Al -Sayed, announced that the Minister of Finance Yassin Jaber expressed a great response to increasing the budget of services provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs to marginalized and poor groups, and for social welfare centers, revealing “readiness to include about fifty thousand families to the” Aman “program from Lebanese families displaced by the Israeli aggression on Lebanon as a first stage of the program that is expected to rise in the next stage.”

This came during her meeting with Minister Jaber in his office in the ministry, where the master said that the meeting was very fruitful, and was allocated to discuss social affairs, including the issue of social protection and safety networks, and the “Aman” program that helps in reducing poverty. The importance of increasing the budget of these programs was also emphasized in the budget of 2026.

Minister Al -Sayyid explained that the “Aman” program, which is funded by the Lebanese state and the rest of external financing, is still standing. She added that the state seeks to increase its financing from the new budget, which was included in the ministerial statement regarding the increase in spending on social affairs, noting that the Minister of Finance is working for the next budget to be reform.

Al -Sayed indicated that the Aman program affects 800,000 Lebanese people, which means that there is a pumping in the economy equal to / 20 million US dollars per month, which constitutes 1 percent of the GDP.

She explained that the current challenge is to raise the percentage of spending on this program, which is expected in its third stage to include about fifty thousand displaced families due to the Israeli aggression. She emphasized that this requires the state to increase its support for the program, which Minister Jaber expressed a great response with him.
