Coinciding with the visit of Netanyahu .. Hungary withdraws from the International Criminal

Today, Thursday, Hungary withdrew from the International Criminal Court, coinciding with the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the country.

“The government of the country decided to withdraw from the court.

The move comes shortly after Netanyahu’s arrival in Budapest on an official visit and his meeting with his Hungarian counterpart, knowing that the Israeli Prime Minister issued an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.

Netanyahu arrived in Hungary early Thursday morning, on his first trip to Europe since the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against him, and he is scheduled to return to Israel on Sunday.

Last November, the International Criminal Court accused Netanyahu of crimes against humanity and war crimes during the Gaza war.

Netanyahu Urban, who invited the Israeli Prime Minister, will meet shortly after the issuance of the arrest warrant, explaining that he will not face detention by the Hungarian authorities.

Although Hungary approved the statute of the relevant international criminal court, it does not consider itself binding on its provisions.

Contrary to the usual practice in Israel, no details have been revealed about the visit in advance, and the press office of the Hungarian Prime Minister refused to comment when he was asked.

Observers attribute this secrecy to the sensitive nature of the visit, given the memorandum of detention against Netanyahu. (Sky News)
