Israel expands its ground operations in Rafah .. The 36th Division is sent to Gaza

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said today, Wednesday, that the Israeli army began expanding its ground operations in the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip, and sent the 36th Division there.

Israeli security sources revealed that the goal of expanding land operations is to control broader areas of land to undermine the influence of Hamas between the local population, which may push the movement to move at a faster rate towards a possible deal.

For its part, the Israeli Army Radio confirmed that the 36th Armored Division is leading the new land operation in Gaza, noting that this step comes within an expanded military strategy to enhance pressure on the “Hamas” movement. (Russia today)
