“His ability to respond is destructive.” Analysts: Hezbollah is in its weakest cases

The Israeli raids renewed the southern suburb of Beirut yesterday, which sparked widespread concern in Lebanon and the international community. Many analysts saw that these strikes may continue and may expand, especially in light of the current situation of Hezbollah, which faces severe pressure.

The areas surrounding the raid site in the Madi neighborhood, where it targeted a building inhabited by Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Badir, targeted a state of panic. For his part, Stephen Dujarric, a spokesman for the Secretary -General of the United Nations, expressed his concern about these developments, calling on all parties to self -control and refrain from any activities that may endanger the lives of civilians.

In turn, President Joseph Aoun considered that this strike constitutes a “dangerous warning” about the stamp intentions against Lebanon. While MP Ibrahim Al -Mousawi described what happened as a “very big aggression”, calling on the government to act effectively and hold the international community responsibility, and take the utmost measures to ensure the security of the Lebanese. Representative Ali Ammar said that “Hezbollah is practicing the utmost patience in dealing with the enemy, but this patience has limits.”

The ceasefire agreement, which began on November 27 under American, French and international sponsorship, stipulated the withdrawal of Hezbollah from the south of the Litani River and the dismantling of its military built, with the deployment of the Lebanese army and the United Nations forces in the region, in exchange for the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the areas it entered during the war. With the end of the withdrawal deadline on February 18, Israel kept forces in five strategic heights, allowing it to oversee large areas on both sides of the border. Since then, Israel has continued to launch raids on southern and eastern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah’s military sites, according to Israel.

The Lebanese state was accused of not implementing the part related to the dismantling of the party’s military arsenal and its removal from the border. Hezbollah has warned that Israel could not continue its violations, and that it must eventually respond to this persistence.

Several analysts confirmed that Hezbollah is currently unable to bear the consequences of a new confrontation with Israel. “Hezbollah cannot respond militarily, because the response will cause stronger Israeli strikes.”

He also considered that Hezbollah’s deterrence capabilities are “completely destroyed.” On the other hand, the researcher at the International Crisis Group, Haiko, suggested that “Israel will continue to adopt an extensive interpretation of the right to self -defense as stated in the ceasefire agreement, at a time when Lebanon lacks effective defensive means.”

“This is the normal situation that prevails since November, but what has been new is that the Israeli punishment for the alleged transgressions of Hezbollah in the south is now in Beirut.”

It is noteworthy that last Friday, Israel launched a raid on the southern suburbs, targeting a building that Hezbollah was used to store it. This raid was the first since the ceasefire, and it came after two missiles from southern Lebanon in a Hezbollah operation that Hezbollah denied responsibility for, while Lebanon announced the arrest of its suspects in carrying out the operation. Later, Hezbollah Secretary -General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, announced that “it is not possible to accept the existence of an equation in which Israel is permissible and the departure and the exemption at any time it wants and we are watching it. Everything has a limit.”
