The Minister of Environment participated in a conference in Paris on scientific diplomacy


The Minister of Environment, Dr. Tamara Al -Zain, participated in the “World Ministerial Dialogue on Scientific Diplomacy”, which was held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris at the invitation of the UNESCO with the participation of ministers and heads of delegations from various member states in the organization.

This conference aimed to enhance international thinking about a new approach to scientific diplomacy that is in line with the needs of modern societies, and the discussion of the discussion of promoting the role of scientific diplomacy as a strategic tool to ensure sustainable and transparent management of natural and scientific resources at the global level and the focus was on facing common challenges such as climate change, loss of biological diversity, pollution, and emerging diseases, in addition to vital issues related to food, water, and energy.

Al -Zein conducted side meetings with UNESCO officials and with the permanent delegate of Lebanon to UNESCO, Ambassador Mustafa Adeeb, to search for support for projects concerned with preserving our natural heritage, especially reserves, in addition to the sites listed on the UNESCO list.
