The first Lebanese lady, Naama Aoun, in Baabda Palace, held a meeting on the occasion of International Women’s Day under the title “You are the Heart of Citizenship”, which gathered 31 Lebanese women and young women who were distinguished in their giving and confronting the challenges by carrying out individual initiatives from their national sense and the need to stand by their Lebanese brothers in various fields.

In a speech to him, Aoun confirmed, “her determination To work to activate the decision to make November 4 of each year the Lebanese Women’s Day, because Lebanon does not continue without it and does not rise except with it.

The meeting, which came to the courage and commitment of Lebanese women during the crises and their role in promoting citizenship, included women and young women: Pamela Zenon, Rita Zahir, Hania Zaatari, Yasmine Ghamrawi Ziada, Maria Touq, Tamar Tuvakjian, Malik Yaqout, Singing Sanad, Zahra Suwaid, Donia Touq, Hayat Al -Nazer, Sindra Salama, Rasha Senkri, Ruba Makarim, Rin Suha Munimna, Asmahan Khalil, Marina Al -Khund, Silvia Lebaridian, Jinan Hayek, Caroline Hobeish, Dana Qadouh, Wahida Ghalini, Mira Al -Habr, Kawthar Harb, Christina Assi, Hala Dahrouj, Nada Ephrem Huraili, Nadia Abdel Saatir, Leticia Aoun, Iman Assaf.

The facts of the meeting

The meeting began with the national anthem on the tunes of the piano playing, then the director of the first Lebanese office, Mrs. Hala Obaid, delivered a speech in which she welcomed the women and young women invited, saying: “Welcome to the Republican Palace.

She said: “Your presence here today is a recognition of your right, and your steadfastness in the years of crises that continued on Lebanon and the real role that they made when the solutions were absent and weakened institutions, and the great impact that you left despite all the difficult circumstances. You were a solution, bond, and safety, when safety was absent. ”

She concluded: “This is not an official meeting, it is your area, your moment, and your time to speak, and the first lady loved to know more about you, and how to face you with crises and difficulties.”

After that, the advisor of the Special Programs of the First Lebanese Mrs. Lina Qumati managed the meeting in which women and women were known for themselves, their initiatives and the challenges he faced to reach their goals.

The women expressed their thanks and gratitude for the initiative of Mrs. Aoun and their belief that Lebanon will return again.

In a speech to her, Mrs. Aoun spoke, she thanked the invitees for their presence to celebrate the “International Women’s Day” and shared her experience after the explosion of 4 August through her presence to the site of the event and her contribution and daughter in collecting aid with the associations there, and she said: “I saw the insistence of women who refused to surrender and initiated to help with all the strength and possibility that we could not We rely on the aid, but we are the ones who make aid, and do not scare the crises, but we are the ones who face crises, and Lebanon will return with your will more beautiful than it was. ”

She added: “Today, with every word you said, and with every story I shared, you assured me that Lebanon is not only a homeland, but a steadfast spirit that lives with each one of you. Today, we do not honor roles, nor do we celebrate individual achievements, today we recognize the fact that Lebanon should be said, remained steadfast because you are from his campaign.

And I went to the attendees by saying: “I know what it means to carry a homeland on her shoulders when no one is her protector. Know what it means fear that you cannot show, and the responsibility that you cannot escape. But I also know, like you, the woman stands up when she is alone, but when she is on the side of her sister she strengthens and achieves the impossible. ”

She concluded: “If there will be tomorrow in Lebanon, it will be because there are women like you. In this spirit, and based on the decision of the Council of Ministers, we will work to activate the work by making November 4 of each year the day of the Lebanese woman, a day in which we stand, to honor each one who struggled, tired, and presented from her heart to this country. Because Lebanon does not continue without the Lebanese woman, and does not rise except with it. Lebanon is steadfast, and with your thanks, and with your faith, and it will remain steadfast because the heart of citizenship beats in it.
