Signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement to construct a new headquarters for the Lebanese Basketball Federation

Under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Nora Bayeradarian, the mayor of Jounieh Sheikh Joan Hobeish and the head of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, Akram Halabi, signed a cooperation agreement to construct a new headquarters for the Lebanese Basketball Federation and sports facilities affiliated with him during a mass ceremony held at the “Platia” complex in Sahel Alama-Jounieh.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee, MP Simon Abi Rumia, attended by Representatives Nada Al -Bustani and Jihad Baqradouni, representatives of deputies Sheikh Farid Al -Khazen, Shawky Al -Dakash and Salim Al -Sayegh, President of the Union of Municipalities of Keserwan – Al -Fotouh and the mayor of Jounieh Sheikh Joan Hobeish, First Deputy President of the Asian Federation and President of the Lebanese Basketball Federation Akram Halabi and members of the Union, Vice -President of the Olympic Committee The Olympic Committee, Jawdat Shaker, members of the Olympic Committee, lawyer Francois Saadeh, Walid Damietta, and Hisham Jaradi, Vice President of the Arab Basketball Federation, Nadim Hakim, Secretary General of the West Asia Union and Secretary General of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, lawyer Charbel Michel Rizk, President of the Fencing Federation, Jihad Salama, Commander of the Higher Center for Military Sports, Brigadier General Mikhael Moussa, Silvana Al -Bon. The ceremony
The national anthem was inaugurated, as the word corporal of the media ceremony, Rawa Saba, welcomed the attendees, in the name of the mayor of Jounieh, Sheikh Joan Hobeish, and in the name of the head of the Basketball Federation, Akram Halabi, then the design was presented by “Zach Engineering and Construction Company” and its chairman, Engineer Ziyad Abu Shabaka, through a short video that won the admiration of the attendees.

The head of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, Akram Halabi, spoke, and said, “What we will expect with Sheikh Al -Siddiq John Hobeish is a dream of our dreams. We participated in the World Cup and we developed the arbitration and training corps, and our goal is not only to participate in international benefits but competition for titles. We dreamed of building a special headquarters in the federation with its sports facilities, and here is the dream that is achieved with Sheikh Joan and my relationship with him dates back to many years. I would like to add a word to His Excellency Minister Nora Bayradari that you are (a white cloud) to remove the (black cloud) that was prevalent and we are attached to great hopes on you. Clean the mud in the sports community, there are those who want to control Lebanese sport through fake federations and clubs, and I tell you that there are more than ten fake federations, and I hope that you will open the file of fake federations and clubs, which are cancer in the Lebanese sports body. You are strong and the Adam is with you and we are with you. ”

The head of the Federation of Municipalities of Keserwan – Al -Fotouh and the mayor of Jounieh, Sheikh Joan Hobeish, and what he said, said, “Sports are important in the life of man and society, and we are with the development of sports, and I would like to thank His Excellency Minister Nora Bayerdarian for sponsoring the signing ceremony. The establishment of the Basketball Federation headquarters with the construction of sports facilities is a major sporting event for Kesrouan and Jounieh. We have a (sports jewel) that is the complex of President Fouad Shehab Sports, and here we are once confirming the existence of basketball and sports in Jounieh, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project to see the light from Professor Akram and the lawyer Charbel Michel Rizk and others, and we hope that the rest will be followed by what we do. Jounieh is an educational, tourist, economic and sports lighthouse that includes universities, schools and clubs, and we are in a new presidential era, the era of His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and we wish him success and we hope to witness prosperity and safety at all levels, and thanks to my colleagues, members of the Municipal Council of the city of Jounieh.

After Hobeish and Halabi signed the cooperation agreement under the attention of Minister Biadarian and the applause of the attendees, the sponsor of the ceremony spoke and said, “The basketball, one of the civilizational symbols for Lebanon, the World Cup four times, and the Asian summer four times, an honorable presence in all groups and sexes, in various Arab, continental and international occasions.”
She added, “The basketball, which we all know is revolving with its successful leadership actors, and its stars who have become a national icon, and there is no beautiful to anyone on it, as the state is packed, and it has no trick, and the budget of the Ministry of Youth and Sports is not helping to do even its duty.”
“Here, the initiatives that have always been a wonderful and advanced situation in our society come, and Professor Joan Hobeish comes to present a piece of land to establish a new sports complex that contains a headquarters and offices of the federation and two stadiums for exercises and matches, and the union is the place of the state and puts its dream project on the railway of life .. to Professor Joan Hobeish words of thanks and gratitude in the name of the sports movement .. alone is not enough For the basketball, his great dream is administratively, artistic and founded, the words of appreciation … alone it is not enough.
“Maybe it is the first time in our history, a sports federation is built with facilities and playgrounds with self -effort, but it is certain not the first time in our Arab world. We know that such headquarters received by the federations are ready and many examples.”

“I know that the Lebanese sport is living in many crises, one of which is sports facilities, and it has increased its intensity, with the destruction of the Israeli aggression of a large number of them in the south and the Bekaa, and here I tell you, that we have formed in the Ministry of Youth and Sports a team whose mission is to prepare a comprehensive file on the status of sports and scout facilities, and it works day and night to complete this file with the help of an engineering team from the South Council of the Council of Ministers.”
“Also, next week, we will start working on developing a study in coordination with the Council of Development and Reconstruction for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers as well, regarding the city of President Camille Chamoun Sports,” she added.
She said, “I visited His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and informed him of the foregoing, and he expressed his happiness and promised to carry the file and study as soon as they were accomplished to where, to obtain support for the rehabilitation and construction of facilities … I also honored the reception of the Prime Minister of the Arab Youth and Sports Council, the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ahmed Al -Mabarqa, and we discussed ways to implement the council’s decision, with an Iraqi initiative, and a Lebanese effort, By creating a fund to support the rehabilitation and building of facilities in Lebanon and Gaza, and I hope that things will go towards the good conclusions.
“Most of what I seek to work all of us, each of its location and according to its capabilities and relationships, to establish together a better sport, for the sake of our youth and athletes, and I hope to succeed through sports diplomacy in collecting the word and unity of the class, publicly we restore the sporting spirit to our sports movement.”
She said, “The new government headed by the state of President Nawaf Salam pledged to write the contemporary page of Lebanon’s history on new foundations, the foundations of institutional reform and sound governance. This is also my covenant in the Ministry of Youth and Sports to establish Lebanese youth, through their ministry, what they are in, and I have been established to organize the Lebanese athlete, an abstract, objective and fair cycle.
She concluded, “I thank Professor Joan Hobeish and Professor Akram Al -Halabi for the sponsorship of this sports -national event, and I will be honored in the early states of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to participate in laying the foundation stone for this great sports project, which in turn establishes a civilizational title,” Jounieh, Olympic City “.
In conclusion, Hobeish honored a number of women on the occasion of “International Women’s Day”, then a breakfast was held in honor of the attendees.
