Smotrich announces the establishment of an immigration administration to implement the Trump plan on Gaza

On Sunday, the Israeli Finance Minister of Salamel Smotrich announced during discussions in the Knesset, the establishment of a “migration administration” aimed at implementing the plan of US President Donald Trump on the Gaza Strip.

In a discussion held in the “Land of Israel” lobby in the Knesset, Smotrich described Trump’s idea as a “plan”, although he did not specify whether a survey had been conducted among the residents of Gaza to know the number of those interested in leaving them, and it is not clear at all any countries that will be ready to absorb them, according to the Hebrew “Wint” website.

During the discussion, Smutrich confirmed that a migration administration will be created and a budget will be allocated to it, and said: “We need to take the plan with both hands. There is a work that must be done with the American administration to identify countries and prepare for the establishment of a migration administration in the Ministry of Defense. If we take out 5,000 Gaza residents daily, it will take a year. The logistics are complicated because we need to know who will go to any country. We are preparing for this under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense. ”

He added: “The budget will not stand an obstacle to this event.” According to his saying, hate in the Gaza Strip towards Israel is so deep that it is impossible to allow the Gaza residents to live close to the fence. “This is not another event, but rather a possibility for historical change,” he added.

The Minister of Settlement, Knesset member Ortic Stake, insisted during the discussion that this is a “voluntary” migration, saying: “There is no way to achieve the removal of the full threat from Gaza to Israel except through the voluntary immigration program.”

She added: “Even if we defeated Hamas as a civil and military government, as long as we do not allow the majority of the population to migrate, we will not be able to remove the threat.”

For his part, the head of the lobby, Knesset member Yuli Edlstein, said, “Things that have been impossible for decades now seem to be a very legitimate topic for discussion. We need to take the right steps to achieve a new Middle East. We must not miss the opportunities that await us. ”
