The first foreign visits of Aoun’s new start in Arab -Lebanese relations

Caroline Akoum wrote in “Al -Sharq Al -Awsat”: The first foreign visit of the President of the Republic Joseph Aoun to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and then his participation in the emergency Arab summit, constituted a positive start in the new stage that the region is going through, and whose effects began to be reflected in Lebanon.

President Aoun, who announced days after his election that his first visit abroad will be to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was a warm hospitality and embrace in the Kingdom and in Cairo, where he participated in the emergency Arab summit, and he had a word, which was praised by most of the heads of the participating countries, as the Lebanese interior, where the Lebanese parties found a continuation of the path of the department’s speech in its internal and external sides.

Sources that participated in the meetings of President Aoun describe this station at the beginning of the era as “the foundation for a new stage of relations between Lebanon and the Arab world in general, and Saudi Arabia in particular, which was not previously obtained”, speaking about a hospitality and an exceptional honor for the Lebanese President in form and content, as it was remarkable the level of the Saudi delegation participating in the reception, and the dinner that brought together the two delegations, as well as the retreat that was held between President Aoun and the Crown Prince Salman, where the conversation was friendly and explicit, touched on historical relations between the two countries, and keenness to issue a joint statement.
